The Condiments Series comprises a range of products which are herbal and natural. They serve as soup preparations and as spices in dishes.

White Pepper 100%

Pepper is produced mainly  in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.  It is  usually used as a spice in cooking especially in Bak Kut Teh and other soups. For best results as a condiment to be added to dishes, wash pepper seeds and sun-dry. Put pepper seeds into hand- grinder and use whenever required.

Pepper from Indonesia and Malaysia (Sarawak) are of better quality. The pepper which we sell are from Indonesia and Malaysia. It is 100% pure.

Black Pepper - 100%

This is also mainly imported from Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. It is used in cooking and for steaks and meat dishes to give it the extra "zing" and remove the 'meaty/beefy/ odour. As with white pepper seeds, either wash and sun dry or roast black pepper seeds in pan. Put black pepper seeds into  hand -grinder and use when necessary.   Our product is 100% pure black pepper seeds. Nothing else is added.

White Pepper Powder 100%

The White Pepper Powder sold by us is 100% pure. Nothing is added to give  bulk to the product. during the grinding process.  What customers get is pure pepper powder 100%. This  is why our product is  more fragrant and stronger.  Many  commercially available pepper powders have rice flour or other items added to increase  bulk and reduce cost of production. Try our all-natural white pepper powder . Smell and taste the difference.

Nutmeg Mace

This is the inner "flower" that envelopes the nutmeg seed inside the nutmeg fruit.  Contrary to popular belief, Penang produces only very little if any nutmeg  commercially. Most nutmegs are imported  from Indonesia and India.
The outer fruit is usually soaked in sugar and eaten as a tit bit. Nutmeg oil can be extracted from the nutmeg mace.  It can also be used as a spice in curry and barbaque. Some customers soak Nutmeg Mace in rice wine and use it for  bruises, sprains and other TCM treatments.

Bak Kut Teh Wellness Soup (葯材肉骨茶)

Many brands of  Bak Kut Teh preparations sold in supermarkets/provision shops etc and Bak Kut Teh soups sold in restaurants and food stalls,  comprise mainly  Angelica sinesis ( Dang Gui/当归)and Pepper(胡椒粒). Chop Wah On's Herbal Bak Kut Teh Wellness Soup comprises a special formulation of selected spices including Star Anise which is a source of shikimic acid for Avian Flu. It is also Carminative (驅風).

Many customers prefer our Herbal Bak Kut Teh recipe for its more wholesome and herbal flavour.  We have some regular local customers and from Hong Kong and Taiwan who purchase 30-50 packets each time.
